Since 1987, Ron has been a sole practitioner of law, engaged in civil practice, serving architects, engineering and surveying professions and related disciplines such as development and construction enterprises, including materials suppliers.
He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam in 1968-69, receiving two Purple Hearts and a Meritorious Mast Commendation. He holds a black belt (1st Dan) in Tae Kwon Do and was a member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and the Catholic Choir of Indianapolis, and now sings with the Missoula Symphony Chorale and occasionally plays cornet in the Missoula Community Concert Band and Missoula City Band.
Ron is also involved in the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors, Inc., the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping, and many other law, engineering, and land surveying organizations and activities, the Indiana Water Resources Association, and served a a Director of the Indianapolis Computer Society and the Co-Chair of the Word Processing (formerly WordPerfect) Special Interest Group.
He has served on the Printed Forms Committee of the Indianapolis Bar Association for several years and is a Past Chair and presently is Co-Chair of the Committee. He is Past Chair of the Indiana State Bar Association General Practice Section and represented the ISBA General Practice Section on the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum's Curriculum Advisory Committee. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association's Panel of Arbitrators for engineering design, surveying, construction, and related cases and controversies, and recently completed the Construction Arbitrator II workshop in Denver.
Ron has served as Corporate Counsel to the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors, Inc. since 1987 and for several years chaired the Constitution and Bylaws Committee of ISPLS.
